OViu — Privacy Policy

OViu is a media player for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: OViu does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.

Information we collect

None. We operate no servers and receive no data from the app. We cannot see what you watch, what you download, or which service you connect to.

Information stored on your device

Everything the app saves stays on your device:

• Playlist credentials — the server address, username, and password of the streaming service you choose to connect to are stored in the iOS/macOS Keychain and are sent only to that provider, to sign you in.
• Preferences — playback quality, subtitle size, audio and subtitle language, and sort order.
• Your library — favourites and playback positions ("Continue Watching").
• Downloads — files you download for offline viewing, kept in the app's private storage.

Deleting the app removes all of this.

Third parties

• Your streaming provider. When you enter a server address, the app communicates directly with that service to sign in and play media. That provider's own privacy policy governs what it records.
• Apple. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy.

OViu includes no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Tracking

OViu does not track you and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

Permissions

OViu requests no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.

Children

OViu is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Content

OViu ships with no channels, playlists, or media of any kind. It plays only what your own credentials give you access to on a service you already use. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access that content.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date.
