OGold is a gold price tracker and buying calculator for the Omani market. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, and the control you have. The short version: OGold works without an account, and we don't track you or run ads.
01 Who we are
OGold ("the app") is developed and operated by Adnan Al Rahbi ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at adnalrahbi@gmail.com.
02 The short version
- You can browse prices, use the calculators, and set price alerts without signing in.
- An account is optional — created only if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details.
- You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
03 Information we collect
If you create an optional account
When you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store the following so your profile and subscription status can be recognized:

If you use Apple's “Hide My Email”, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address — never your real email.
If you subscribe to OGold Pro
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive a confirmation that a subscription is active (so we can unlock Pro features) but never your payment method, card number, or billing address.
On your device only (not sent to us)
- Price alerts, calculator entries, purchase notes, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- Notifications & background refresh are used to check gold prices and alert you — no personal data is collected in the process.
04 How prices are sourced
Live and historical gold prices are retrieved from third-party market data providers. These requests ask only for public price data — no personal information about you is sent with them.
05 Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted services to run the app:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — stores your optional account details securely. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, and subscription management.
- Market data providers — supply gold price information; they receive no personal data from you.
06 How we use information
We use the limited data above only to:
- Provide and maintain your optional account and profile.
- Recognize your OGold Pro subscription and unlock Pro features.
- Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
07 Your choices & rights
- Use the app without an account — most features work signed out.
- Delete your account — Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account removes your account and associated data from our servers.
- Sign out at any time from the app menu.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in the app (Manage Subscription) or in iOS Settings.
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.
08 Data retention
Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, the associated records are removed from our database. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
09 Children
OGold is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
